It would be funny if they completely redid Midori with BSD. That'll be the second commercial OS coder to switch to BSD recently. The first being Apple. Would make sense most modern Windows Networking is based on BSD. They can't risk borrowing from Linux or they would have to release the source. I do hope they update the VMS style subsystems though. Maybe they can take some hints from Wine and add real Linux/Unix functionality. Anyhow if Midori is anything like the Windows 2000 upgrade it will be fun at first with years of B$ to follow.

As far as the subscription base goes I am not sure I trust M$ with that much info. I'm still being spammed for registering Windows 3.1 and Windows 95 through the mail. :O

Guess it's just wait and see. Oh and if it's really the original old guys. Well those boys did nothing but write Basic interpreters and Hack DOS (an OS tutorial) after M$ bought it from the publisher.

Hmm just enough info to get the discussion started in a flame war and not enough to calm things down. Sounds like the new M$ to me. Propaganda until we finally see the product. Then ahh it's cute, not really that super though. :)

So Windows Midori will be could computing oriented. Does this mean it's meant towards businesses to run off a server?

Midori is a completely new operating system, it is not part of the windows series of operating systems to begin with! Also, do you have a source for your statement that it will be the next OS released by microsoft?
